If you were to ask high school Leah what she wanted to be when she grew up, a digital marketer certainly wouldn’t have been on the docket. Ever since I was a child, I wanted nothing more than to be a musician and have done a pretty dang decent job of doing so. However, as the stereotype casts, some months can be better than others and the reality of #adulting makes you think about “what ifs” like if your hands or face were suddenly incapable of working. Then what? Plus, I’m a fan of versatility and being multi-faceted and am pretty sure I have borderline ADD.
Since I could remember, I’ve always been haggled by teachers to pursue writing, but never really listened. I fell into social media marketing and PR having to promote bands of my own and discovered that aside from a natural knack for it, I genuinely loved it. Digital marketing helps connect the dots of cultivating excellent content while pushing what you believe in, so it’s a field that resonates with me.
It took me quite some time to find a company that fit like a glove….and to be honest I didn’t think such a thing existed….until I found the Team TBD! Having realized that music publicity was a bit of a conflict of interest with my own musical pursuits and then working at a branding agency that was way too corporately structured and cookie cutter, I was a lost puppy in a field I had come to love, but didn’t quite fit into. TBD was a much-needed breath of fresh air with the support system of fellow renegades who thinks the same ol’ tired and true marketing tactics are for squares.
My favorite thing about TBA Media is the team’s constant desire to go after “big wins” and thusly, never resting on laurels or becoming complacent. This means that no two days are the same and we are constantly scouring the latest tools and tricks to make us our best and think outside of the box. We are never afraid to go back to the drawing board time and time again and figure out what is BEST for the here and now…..and that constantly changes. The digital landscape is relentlessly evolving and no two clients are the same. THAT is why I love what I do and who I work with.
